Bangladesh is a Parliamentary Republic country, which is formed by the largest group in the country along with aborigines peoples in North and South areas, Bangladesh dominates the country by Bengal with Delta testis, the largest delta in the world, which gives Bangladesh a unique character's brand of its kind "the land of rivers". Islam is the most prevalent religion in Bangladesh, which forms about 86.6% of the population, whereas the Hindus forms 12.1% and the Buddhist & Christian jointly forms 1% of the population. Bangladesh is placed as the fourth-largest Muslim populated country after Indonesia, Pakistan and India. The Hindus shapes the second largest religious group in Bangladesh and the third-largest Hindu population in the world after India and Nepal, and the Buddhists are concentrated in the south-east of the country, while Christians concentrated in the urban areas. After it gained independence from Pakistan, Bangladesh became the first country in South Asia to declare secular constitution in 1972, and India in 1976. However, the military Council led by Major General Ziaur Rahman has removed the secular principles enshrined in the Constitution through a decree of martial law in 1977.
Location: Bangladesh is located in South Asia, bordered by India from all sides except the far southeast side, which is bordered by Burma (Myanmar), and the southern side is bordered by the coast of the Bay of Bengal.
Bangladesh is situated within the ‘fertile Ganges Delta’ and its branch rivers are ‘Ganges’ and ‘Brahmaputra’ and subjected to the annual floods caused by monsoon winds and cyclones.
